Data and saved snapshots

Saved snapshots in Database capture the project’s production data. Restoring replaces current data with an earlier state; it does not restore website files or development data.

Save a snapshot

   Open Saved snapshots

   Open the project, then Database. Snapshots appear once the database is ready and according to your permissions.

   Open the save form

   Under Saved snapshots, click Save a snapshot now. A form appears where you can enter an optional description, such as Before updating products.

   Save and wait for it to appear

   Click Save in the form. Wait for success and the snapshot to appear in the list before the next action. There is no fixed duration. If an error appears, review the message and list before retrying. If the snapshot limit is reached, remove an unneeded snapshot and retry.

Restore an earlier snapshot

   Choose the right snapshot

   Check the snapshot’s date and description, then click Restore.

   Review the confirmation

   Restoration replaces current production data. The dialog explains that an automatic snapshot is taken first. Confirm Yes, restore only after reviewing the scope.

   Wait and verify

   Wait for Restoring to finish and success to appear. Check the published website’s data. If the request fails, reload snapshots and read the state before another attempt.

Remove an unneeded snapshot

   Review the snapshot

   Check the date of the snapshot you no longer need, then use Delete snapshot.

   Check the result

   Wait for the snapshot to disappear. If removal is refused because another snapshot depends on it or because of a service error, read the message and choose another suitable snapshot or contact support.
